Rationale
Education is vital if we are to inform people of the serious nature of the problems we face and guide them towards a sustainable energy future.

Talks
It is vital, if we are to solve the problems which face us, that those who will inherit the world we're creating understand the problems, the underlying causes and the solutions.
Futureenergy.org runs schools talk in two states, Victoria and NSW.
We would be happy to come and talk to your school about energy issues or climate change.
The talks are free, however a $40 donation to cover costs would be most appriciated.
Contact adrian@futureenergy.org or on 0417 545 846 to discuss bringing a talk to your school.
Follow-up class activities for students
Developed for teachers who have had a Futureenergy.org talk given to their class. This activity is designed to teach students to translate their concerns into enguagement with political processes. The document is for teachers.

Stalls Program
Futureenergy.org has run a number of stalls at major public events including Big Day Out, St Kilda Festival, Rainbow Serpent, Moora Moora Festival and Bunswick Sydney Road Festival.
Our stalls are usually run in conjunction with Nuclear Free Australia.

Big Day Out Stall
We have also handed out leaflets to the lunch crowds in the city. The leaflets focused on climate change and the Australia-US Free Trade Agreement.

Rallies
|
Rallies Program
Futureenergy.org began life by running a rally in support of wind power last year. We were motivated to run the rally when we saw an anti-wind rally on the news.
We have now run two rallies, the Wind Rally in November 2003 and the Clean Energy Rally in 2004. They were suported by a large number of environment groups.
Rallies are good opportunities to get your message out there and encourage people to act.
Left - one of the reasons we campaign for sustainable energy
Right - Democrat Senator Lyn Allison at the rally

Leafletting
|
Leafletting Program
Leafletting is a simple way to expose a message to a broad audience.
Last Christmas we leafleted 20,000 flyers in Hawthorn, with a strong message on climate change and energy issues.
Soon we will leaflet a number of marginal seats for the federal election.

Tours

Self Drive Tour - Seeing Is Believing
One of the best ways to educate people about a sustainable energy future is to get them to see the alternatives themselves.
Fortunately in Victoria we have all we need close to Melbourne in Gippsland.
We have run a number of tours to Gippsland to educate people about energy production.
Based on these tours, we have designed a self drive tour that takes in coal mines and wind farms, and contrasts these two energy production systems.
The tour can be done in one day or you can take some more time to visit the wonderful sites in this lovely part of Victoria and do it in two.
For groups undertaking the tour, we may be able to provide a person to accompany you and provide interpretations.
You will be able to download the self drive tour soon.
